Beteranong Komedyanteng Pumanaw Na Dahil Sa Sakit Niyang Ito

Veteran comedian Don Pepot, Ernesto Fajard in real life, passed away last 8:35 pm on Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

He is 88 years old.

Don Pepot’s son Michael Fajardo confirmed the news of his father’s death due to pneumonia.

Don Pepot’s acting career began in 1964, and he made more than a hundred films when he was still active in showbiz.

Agimat, Si Enteng Kabisote and Si Ako, official entry in the Metro Manila Film Festival 2012, is Don Pepot’s last project.

The tribute given to him on GMA-7’s Sunday PinaSaya in July 2018 was the last time he was seen on television.

Don Pepot of Sunday Pinasaya was awarded the first-ever Puso ng Saya award for providing the public with comfort and inspiration through his sense of humor.

In June 2005, Don Pepot received Lou Salvador Sr. Memorial Award to the 53rd FAMAS for his contributions to the Filipino film industry as a comedian.

Fellow comedian Apeng Daldal is considered Don Pepot’s mentor and discoverer.

Don Pepot became the victim of fake news in February 2014 when word spread that he had died due to complications from diabetes.

According to his son Michael, one of his father’s most memorable sermons when he was still alive was to throw away the good and pick up the bad.

“Itapon ninyo ang mabuti at pulutin ninyo ang masama. Kaya ko sinabi na itapon ninyo ang mabuti para mapulot ng iba at sila ay maging mabuting tao.

“Pulutin nino ang masama, ibaon ninyo sa lupa at nang mawala ang masama,” the life lesson of Don Pepot that will remain in the memory of Michael and his siblings.

According to Michael, his father’s remains will be cremated at Karuhatan de Solennelle this Wednesday morning, January 19.

The wake will begin tomorrow, January 20, at Solennelle Funeral Homes along Maysan Road, Valenzuela City.
