Kapamilya actor Coco Martin and the rest of the cast of “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano” are all set for a comeback on a prime time TV schedule.
TV Patrol reported Thursday night, that the longest-running series will return on-air on June 13.
Since ABS-CBN’s franchise renewal is still pending in Congress, “Ang Probinsyano” will be temporarily available on TV Plus’ Cinemo, on Sky Cable, G Sat and other cable operator members of Philippine Cable Television Association.
While the National Capital Region and nearby areas now under General Community Quarantine (GCQ), the long-time primetime series which both played the lead role and directed by Martin will be resuming taping under strict compliance with health and safety guidelines.
Other casts, Lorna Tolentino, who plays First Lady Lily Ann Cortez-Hidalgo, earlier confirmed in an interview with ABS-CBN’s Mario Dumaual the production will proceed with a locked-in taping arrangement in a resort in Batangas.
Lorna T. also added they are scheduled to undergo rapid Covid-19 testing on June 14 before they begin taping the following day.
The locked-in production will go on for a month, meaning no one among the cast and crew will return to their homes until taping is concluded.
“Para kaming nasa ‘Pinoy Big Brother,’ nakakulong sa bahay ni Cardo Dalisay. So dapat all the way sa mga siguradong negative [sa COVID-19], ‘di na pwede lumabas,” the acclaimed actress told ABS-CBN entertainment reporter Mario Dumaual.
The award-winning actress added they trust the safety regulations that will be strictly implemented during their “new normal” setup.
Besides the minimum health standards, the primetime bida series, will also make sure that there will be no more than 50 staffers, including the cast, in the production
“Parang kami ang sampol o halimbawa sa balik-taping. Dapat walang mali sa procedures namin. Ang laki ng sakripisyo at sugal namin dito,” Tolentino emphasized.
The news further disclosed that the show has another closed-door set ready in Quezon City.
As we can remember, teleseryes, talk shows, and live productions, including “Ang Probinsyano,” suspended shoots when the government placed Metro Manila under Enhanced Community Quarantine in the middle of March.
